The Koreshians
Cyrus Teed led some of his flock of bamboozled saps from Chicago to Southwest Florida where he inspired a local landowner to give him land to build his great future city with millions of inhabitants. Cyrus called himself Koresh and taught his followers that the earth was not flat but concave and that we lived inside a globe. The utopian village survived a long time. One female inhabitant lived into the 1970's and was only dissuaded of believing Teed?s theories after the debunking moonwalk. Like many utopia societies (with the notable exclusion of the swinging Perfectionists of New England), they were celibate. The landowner later sued since the Koreshian futuristic city only numbered a hundred or so at its height.
